Go north...
...to explore the lovely beaches of Polzeath, Perranporth or Gwithian, with 3 miles of golden sand. Head to Newquay to enjoy its famous nightlife, many beaches, surfing and lively atmosphere. For those who like walking, follow the coastal footpath at St Agnes or Godrevy Point. If you are looking for adventure sports, the north coast has plenty to offer, from Abseiling to Zorbing.
Go south...
...and take a boat trip from Truro to Falmouth down the river Fal, where you can visit St Mawes or Pendennis Castle. There is also the National Maritime Museum Cornwall – good for a rainy day. If the sun is out you could enjoy the calm beaches of Gyllingvase, Swanpool or Maenporth. Find your sea legs and go sailing with one of the local sailing clubs or try your hand at windsurfing or kayaking. The south coast has a sub-tropical climate and is home to some famous gardens such as Trebah and Trellisick.
Go east...
...and visit Visit the Eden Project – being hailed as the ‘eighth wonder of the world’, the biomes are great and the whole site needs a whole day put aside to take it all in. Take a trip to the fishing village of Mevagissey or Fowey (Daphne Du Maurier country), whilst there visit the nearby `Lost Gardens of Heligan`. Nearer to home is the Roseland Peninsular, famous for its flora and fauna, a walker’s paradise.
Go west...
...for the day to Land’s End or Penzance where you could take a trip to the Isles of Scilly. Visit St Michael’s Mount or travel to the Lizard peninsular and visit the breathtakingly beautiful Kynance Cove. For a family day out, try Flambards Theme Park in Helston or the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek. If you are an art lover, why not visit St Ives where you will find many local artist’s galleries and the Tate St Ives on Porthmeor Beach?
